Telethon of Honduras this weekend received a donation of 14 wheelchairs from the Response to Move Foundation (Fundación Una Respuesta para Andar) and Surgical Medical Assistance Relief Teams (SMART). The chairs will be used to help rehabilitate people with disabilities. Telethon collects wheelchairs throughout the year and assists thousands of people at its centers in Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, Santa Rosa de Copán, and Choluteca. The presidents of Response to Move and SMART are Renán Inestroza and Teresa Searcy. Telethon, founded in 1987, is headed by José Rafael Ferrari. Other organizations that provide wheelchairs to people with needs in Honduras include Central American Medical Outreach (CAMO) in Santa Rosa and Wheels for the World in the United States.
